Motorola Implements Collaborative E-Learning Software from The Learning Trust
IRVINE, Calif., April 6, 2001-- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) has begun production use of the Geneva Active Digital Library, a collaborative e-learning software solution from The Learning Trust.
The Geneva Active Digital Library is The Learning Trust's flagship product. It contains an advanced e-learning solution that is based on collaborative learning technologies developed in conjunction with North Arizona University (NAU). The Geneva solution enables employees to learn from and teach each other from their desktop computers without the necessity of meeting in a face-to-face classroom environment.
Motorola plans to use The Learning Trust collaborative solution to help them improve the efficiency of sharing knowledge and experience across the enterprise. Collaboration based learning has been shown to improve retention of course material while encouraging deeper thinking and the sharing of ideas. Motorola employees will participate in company training courses and knowledge sharing communities with their peers using the software.
"The Learning Trust is committed to providing Motorola a collaborative framework to support the many online learning tools in use by their organization. We are honored to be a part of this partnership in creating a more efficient method of learning and knowledge sharing within the organization. The Geneva ADL is the most powerful and effective solution for enabling organizational learning as corporations continue to move toward e-business," said Carl Dietz, Chairman of The Learning Trust.
