Purdue University Partners with The Learning Trust to Create Worldwide Strategic Roadmapping Lab
IRVINE, Calif., June 20, 2001-- Purdue University has partnered with The Learning Trust to utilize The Learning Trust's Vision Strategist software at the University's Laboratory of the Future, which is currently being established within the School of Engineering.
Purdue will use the software solution to help train corporations in the practice of strategic forecasting. The solution will mainly be used as a tool to create global strategic forecasts, or "roadmaps", but will also be used to gather the information necessary for the roadmaps. By using the software to build online collaborative "knowledge communities" within the Laboratory of the Future. The Learning Trust, Purdue, and participating corporations will create an effective means by which to gather the latest information on developing technologies. Each participant can then form strategies around the market trends they uncover, which in turn can be used to find additional market opportunities that are aligned with their newly developed strategies.
"The development of Purdue University's Laboratory of the Future is an exciting way in which our software benefits both the corporate world and the academic world. Innovation is encouraged, and control points on change are created", commented Carl Dietz, The Learning Trust Chairman. "We are confident that Purdue will be able to create a global research institute where outward looking strategic forecasts are used to manage change, rather than simply anticipate it."
