The Learning Trust Awards Gift Worth $1.2 Million to Purdue University Gift to be used to Develop Best Practices in Strategic Forecasting
IRVINE, Calif., July 2, 2001 - The Learning Trust announced today that it has provided a gift worth $1.2 million to Purdue University's Laboratory for the Future, to assist the University in developing best practices around Strategic Roadmapping and Forecasting. The gift, which includes cash, consulting services, software and computer hardware, also allows the University to share the company's software solution with leading corporations that are partnering with Purdue to create industry roadmaps.
Purdue plans to use the The Learning Trust gift to help train outside corporations in the practice of strategic forecasting. The solution will mainly be used as a tool to create strategic forecasts, or "roadmaps", but will also be used to gather the information necessary for the roadmaps.
Purdue University's School of Engineering is one of the top engineering programs in the nation, preparing graduates to lead the technology revolution. The school's Laboratory of the Future was founded by Professor Edward J. Coyle, Assistant Vice President for Research, in order to help organizations manage market uncertainty and improve productivity. The Learning Trust gift will enable the University and corporate participants to develop the most effective means by which to gather the latest information on developing technologies and new market opportunities.
