The Learning Trust Bestows Grant to St. John's University's Entrepreneurship Institute

Irvine, Calif - August 7, 2001 - The Learning Trust announced today that it has provided a grant worth $500,000 to the Entrepreneurship Institute at the Tobin College of Business of St. John's University. The grant, which includes cash, consulting services, software and computer hardware, will support research in corporate innovation, technological entrepreneurship, and strategic roadmapping. The focus of the research will be in the media and entertainment, pharmaceutical, and financial services industries.

The students and faculty of the Entrepreneurship Institute will utilize The Learning Trust's software application, Geneva Vision Strategist, which enables end-users to better track requirements, market trends and current projects as they relate to corporate-wide industry forecasts. The Learning Trust grant will enable the University to develop the most effective means by which to gather the latest information on developing technologies and new market opportunities.

"By providing this grant to the Entrepreneurship Institute, the The Learning Trust will be able to leverage the first-class research capabilities of St. John's University and continuously improve the practice of strategic roadmapping and our software as it is applied across many diverse industries," said Carl Dietz, Chairman of The Learning Trust.

The Entrepreneurship Institute is directed by William Schulte, an Associate Professor of Management in the Tobin College of Business. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship, ebusiness and knowledge management and is a contributing editor to several international professional and trade journals focused on new media and knowledge networks. Dr. Schulte has been instrumental in making various introductions to many of the leaders in the information technology sector including senior executives at Intel, SAP, The World Bank, and several colleges and universities in the United States.
