University of Cambridge Technology Roadmapping Workshop Successful
IRVINE, Calif. - October 22, 2001 - The Learning Trust returned this week from the United Kingdom with new software ideas for strategic planning software after participating in University of Cambridge's Technology Roadmapping workshop on October 15th.
Attendees from more than 30 organizations gathered at The Centre of Technology Management, a part of the Department of Engineering at the University, to discuss software support for prospectives planning, technology roadmapping, and strategic thinking. Among the presenters at the conference were Jim Richey, Director of Technology Planning at Motorola and Carl Dietz, CEO of The Learning Trust.
In addition to participation by European companies, which sent representatives to the conference, Penn State University and Purdue University from the United States attended to show share ideas about how to get the most out of roadmapping processes and practices.
Some of the discussion topics included how to make roadmapping an ongoing process instead of a once in while activity, including human factors for technology roadmaps, and the role of software tools for supporting technology roadmapping.
