Portfolio Reporter dramatically reduces the time and effort of analyzing data for product planning, technology alignment or strategy creation processes
Irvine, California - January 28, 2005 - Alignent Software, the market leader in enterprise strategic product planning software, today unveiled PortfolioReporter, a major new product module that automatically analyzes and compares data across any number of roadmaps and gives senior executives complete visibility into dozens of essential performance metrics. With PortfolioReporter, users now have access to hundreds of individual reports that identify new product opportunities, assess technology readiness, detect platform re-use opportunities, and even track supplier capability.
More than a year in the making, PortfolioReporter extracts data embedded in the database and displays it in a variety of graphical formats. The module supports 450 of the most popular R&D charting layouts, all of which are available in an online, Web-based library.
This breakthrough technology not only dramatically reduces the time it takes to gather quality information, its advanced analytic capability eliminates the need for expensive analytic software. In addition, users will be able to publish their R&D plans into graphical formats useable on websites, PDF documents or on popular desktop applications like Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
The PortfolioReporter functionality is integrated seamlessly into the Vision Strategist user interface. The reports it generates are fully customizable to support the individual reporting requirements of any organization. PortfolioReporter supports more than roadmaps. It can also include information originating in other systems, like project management, via the Vision Strategist XML interface.
PortfolioReporter has also been enhanced with a number of security features, including internal access control. When applied, this safety feature ensures that reports containing sensitive or confidential data can only be created by authorized users.
